About this Lunch & Learn

This Lunch and Learn resource has been developed to raise awareness of sepsis for all staff working within general practice.

It contains information about what sepsis is, how to detect it and how to treat and manage it appropriately.  Identifying sepsis in conjunction with physical deterioration in a patient at an early stage can drastically improve the outcome for the patient. The numbers are possibly greater than we think and general practice has a huge part to play.  There is a great benefit for the whole team to learn about this together – from a clinical point of view and from a practical & logistical point of view.

Why should you run this training resource with your team?

The ambulance service are now asking GPs for the NEWS2 score of the patient when an ambulance is requested…..CQC are starting to look at how GP practices respond to sepsis….and you may just save a patient’s life.

Certificates of attendance are provided as part of the package, and don’t forget to log your learning points & reflections as part of your CPD. CQC are particularly keen to see any evidence of your learning and how you apply it.

You can access the files of any purchased package as often as you like from your Wessex LMCs account. We routinely maintain packages to keep them up-to-date. We recommend, therefore, that you don’t save your own versions, as these will not be updated automatically.
